Anne Stevenson Smith, First Soprano
Anne Stevenson Smith has been singing for 35 years - started
madrigals in high school and never gave
it up. She joined theBloom Consort and now has performed with the troupe for
nearly 10 years.
Anne also sang with The Colonial Mastersingers for 25
years, and performed with G&S Players of Philadelphia for 3 seasons. A
versatile and dedicated musican, Anne also sang folk rock in a duet, and now
sings jazz and folk as well as Renaissance fare.
Anne's talent comes from both hard work and heredity: her
grandmother was a well known Lyric Soprano and was
the RKO Girl of the Air Force in 1926!
Along with her duties as a first soprano, Anne is also Music Librarian forThe Bloom Consort.
When not performing in Renaissance Faires and other Consort gigs, Anne fills her time as a Free Lance Management Consultant and Grant writer. You can reach Anne at smith@ccis.net
Other passions include camping, and playing with words. Anne shares: "Singing with the Consort is a joy - I've had to grow my confidence and technique in order to master the style". She is married, and lives in West Chester PA, with husband Skip, and her cat, who also enjoys making singing-like noises.
Anne and fellow peasant Gene have been singing together since their teen years!
